Feeling like you’re not “good enough” is a common struggle for many online service business owners I coach. Doubts about the value of your services can sneak in, especially when you are the face of your business. These doubts can spill over into questioning your own worth.
Let’s be real – entrepreneurship is tough, and that nagging sense of not being “good enough” can throw a serious wrench in the works. It can undermine your confidence, leading to inaction, procrastination and not doing what needs to be done.
When I coach, I steer clear of quick fixes like saying, “Of course, you’re good enough! Everyone has a unique gift to give to the world, don’t be silly!” Because if it were that simple to change a belief, all you’d need to do is find a nice empowering quote on Instagram and your problems would be sorted.
I’m a coach. Not a tell-you-what-you-want-to-hear-cheerleader.
Instead, I guide clients through some deep thinking. How would you know if you were good enough? What does good enough mean? What would it take to be good enough? 👈BTW some free coaching fire questions for you right there!
Asking these questions gets the ball rolling on a journey of self-discovery.
We dig into the reasons behind their low confidence and figure out the steps to build it back up. While clients often find their own definitions of excellence during this process, they also discover just how awesome they are. It’s a powerful moment, and I love celebrating them.
Recognising your brilliance doesn’t mean you’re done growing though. Every entrepreneur, no matter how great, has areas where they can improve. It’s not about feeling lacking; it’s about understanding that growth is an ongoing thing and that the two aren’t mutually exclusive.
By the end of the session, the client is buzzing! They leave with a super specific and realistic understanding of exactly why they’re awesome, how they could be even more awesome and what practical steps they need to take and learn to fill that gap. And I leave with a big smile on my face because I love giving them this gift.
You don’t have to have a coach to go through this process, but having someone else guide the conversation can make it a bit easier. A coach can help you see things you might have missed and speed up the journey to confidence and success. Everyone’s path to feeling “good enough” is different, but with the right help, it can be a journey of self-discovery that propels you forward.
